Private Psychotherapy in Ithaca and Vestal - 607 761-6170

I’m a licensed Psychologist with a background in both Philosophy and Psychology.  Philosophy provides the overview of life and Psychology the means to deal with peoples' problems.  As a graduate student studying Philosophy at the University of Toronto, I became aware that I wanted to work directly with individuals.  What use is the wisdom of the ages if it has no meaning for the individual in his or her life?  After completing my masters in Philosophy, I went on to obtain a doctorate in Psychology.

I work with individuals who are college age or older.  I work best with those who are inclined to look deeply into themselves for the answer.  Although many difficulties arise from sources outside of ourselves, I focus on the difficulties that stem from our own ways of thinking and living.  It is my job to help you in this effort.

Life’s deepest questions can arise in the context of love or work, school or family.  These questions may initially appear as symptoms such as anxiety, depression, panic or obsessing.  I have found that the best answers arise out of a deeper understanding.  Although I emphasize insight and self-clarification, I am also knowledgeable about medications for those who take them or need them.  I strongly emphasize a body/mind approach and the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may.
We ourselves must walk the path."
